I upgraded to Windows 10 several months ago and I have been using Office ever since with no problems. This problem started this week. It may be a coincidence but the problem started right after I received a large upgrade to Windows 10 but I am suspicious. I have to do a Save As and use a different file name. I copied screen shots of all the dialogue boxes into my Word document. When I tried to paste the whole document here it only copied the words but left blanks for the pictures. I will have to go back and delete the screen shots and write the words in the dialogue boxes.
I did it over with descriptions of the dialogue boxes. It would have been easier for you to see the dialogue boxes but I tried to give you a good description of each one. The Word documents I created today to paste into this box seem to work fine.
Older files are not being recognized properly. The description of the problem follows. I hope you find this helpful. I added information to the spreadsheet and then pushed the Save icon. I got this message. A dialogue box with Microsoft Office Excel in the upper left corner. Try saving to a different file. I pushed the OK button and then got the following message. Pushing the OK button closed the message and went back to the original file. Then if I tried to close the initial file I would get the following message. Pushing the Yes button starts the process all over again with a new random number generated file name. If I pushed the No button the file would close. I added information to the document and then pushed the Save icon. When I pushed the Save button I got this message. A dialogue box with Microsoft Office Word in the upper left corner.
When I pushed OK the message box disappeared. Then when I tried to close the file I got this message. Just like in Excel, pushing the Yes button starts the process all over again.
I opened a recent file made after I upgraded to Windows I made a small change and then pushed the Save icon. After a long pause this message appeared. Worksheet compatibility issues. Get started.
