Windows vista black screen after startup repair

It took a while before certain keys would work. The problem was the most oddest thing it was the mouse I was using. Yes the mouse was causing the glitch. I only discovered that by accident whilst trying to figure out problems i was getting onm my computer and I went through everything looking for solutions. Then on one of the help supports it explained certain problem with a mouse. The lack of operation on the keyboard was one such system.

I changed the mouse which i fortunately had and the problem has not returned. I add that the keyboard can also be at fault if not compatable. Often with new Keyboards a disc is with the item to install on the computer to resolve the problem. However in my view change your mouse first as you will find that is the most probable suspect.

I became a believer when i changed my mouse and my keyboard worked fine ever since. Usually you only get a 5 day leeway but oft it has solved problems I got.

I have the same issue. I was just watching the Big Bang Theory Season 3, then boom! I rebooted, turned to safe mode. Restarted then opened a video again. Blue screen again. Then rebooted. Safe mode then shut it down. When I started it again, all i get is a black screen. No warning sounds just the noise of the fan. The lights are disk and battery lights are on but nothing is showing up on the monitor. If I had known that HP computers are having this kind of problem, I wouldn't have bought this stylish laptop.

I would rather have a common looking laptop that lasts than this! Ones you are one "computer you should be able to see drive "C", right click Drive "C" go to properties, in there select "disk Clean up". After the pc updated I couldn't use Google Chrome it crashed and said "Whoa Google Chrome stopped working" so after reading a couple of posts I decided to restore the pc.

So after I did that it worked fine. The next day Chrome stopped working again and so did my Mozilla Firefox it said XPCOM could not be found and I think this was because as I was shutting down the night before there were more updates running on the pc.

So I restored around 4 or 5 times and the last time I did this and restarted the computer it was taking a really long time with a black screen with only the mouse showing so I shut it down by pressing the power button down bad I know. Now, every time I power it on, you can see the Windows loading screen with the little bars at the bottom and then there's a black screen with white text asking what mode to use safe mode, normal mode, etc.

However, after this then it goes to a black screen with only the mouse showing. Anybody know how to fix this? Is there anything I can do? The content you requested has been removed. Ask a question. Quick access. Search related threads. Remove From My Forums.

Device manager screen. System Restore screen. Download recovery disk for Windows 10 free Using Windows 8? Download recovery disk for Windows 8 Using Windows 7?

Download recovery disk for Windows 7 Using Windows Vista? Do you have a Vista Disk? You can try System Restore from it. If you do not have the disks your system maker will sell them cheap. Or try from Safe Mode if you can get there. You can create a Recovery Disk or use someone else same version to do the System Restore it only has to be bootable. You can try an In-Place Upgrade hopefully saves programs and data or a repair installation hopefully saves data and will have to reinstall programs.

Be sure to do a good backup or three. If nothing works you can do a repair installation which should save data however you will have to reinstall programs. This also requires the correct Vista disks especially for OEM versions. You will need to know your Product Code. Your computer may be infected by virus. Method 1.
